Overview
This qualification reflects the role of individuals working as developing and emerging leaders and managers in a range of enterprise and industry contexts.
As well as assuming responsibility for their own performance, individuals at this level are likely to provide leadership, guidance and support to others. They may also have some responsibility for organizing and monitoring the output of teams.
They apply solutions to a defined range of predictable and unpredictable problems and analyze and evaluate information from a variety of sources.

Course Duration
This qualification will be delivered over 49 weeks, including 40 weeks of training and assessment spread over 4 terms (10 weeks each) and 9 weeks of holidays.
Each term includes a 3-week term break.
Class sessions are planned to ensure that students have a mixture of practical and theoretical components and those classes cater for a wide variety of learning styles. Additionally, workplace practices and environments are simulated and used to conduct skills based assessments in accordance with unit requirements.

This course will be delivered face-to-face in a classroom-based setting which includes the simulation of workplace-based environment, as well as structured, online study.

Entry Requirements
Douglas College Sydney has the following entry requirements:
Be at least 18 years of age and have completed the equivalent of Year 12 at the time of enrolment.
Participate in a course entry interview to determine suitability for the course and student needs. The course entry interview will also assess whether students can use digital technologies.
Have sufficient language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) skills as tested through a language, literacy and numeracy assessment. Students will need to achieve ACSF level 3 for reading, writing, numeracy and oral communication to enter the course.

Training Arrangements
Students are required to attend classes for 13.5 hours a week and complete 6.5 hours of structured online study per week. In addition to this, students are also required to complete approximately 5 hours of additional study per week comprising of general reading and research for assessments. Students may commence this course at the start of any unit.

All students will be provided with a range of learning support options and resources to help them achieve competency. This includes: Academic and personal support. Referral to external support services.

Students may apply for recognition of existing qualifications or skills, knowledge and experience (credit transfer or recognition of prior learning) as per the information included in our International Student Handbook, which is available here.
